October 15 I'm Back...Wow, I can receive comments again! Yeahhhhh.
The weekend here was amazing...weatherwise. In the mid 70's and sunny all weekend. I worked a halfday on Saturday, the museum I work for needed extra help in the gift shop due to a music festival on our grounds the whole weekend. We had a lot of traffic, which is a good thing, since we are only a year old (the museum that is).
My bathroom is almost complete, I just need to paint the molding and the ceiling. Hopefully this weekend. I will post photos as soon as I complete everything. The tile work is very good, the walls not as good, but are okay.
Last week I went on an interview for a new job...it went very well. It would be a state job, working for our general assembly. I like my job at the museum well enough, but things are very precarious...financially and also a little chaotic. I think it might be time to leave. I have been here about two and a half years. Working for the general assembly sounds interesting. This arm of the assembly drafts its legislation and handles legal and general research. The only problem is the salary was considerbly less than I make now. I will not take a cut in pay, so we shall see if they want me bad enough.
Lastly, my mom and nephew will be coming for a visit in about 10 days. They will be here for a long weekend, the 25th thru the 30th of October I think. I will need to start thinking of fun things to do with them. It will be the second time my nephew has visited...the first time was only for an afternoon, so he didn't see much of our fair city. October 08 My Way...And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain. My friend, Ill say it clear, Ill state my case, of which Im certain. Ive lived a life thats full. Ive traveled each and evry highway; And more, much more than this, I did it my way. Regrets, Ive had a few; But then again, too few to mention. I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption. I planned each charted course; Each careful step along the byway, But more, much more than this, I did it my way. Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew When I bit off more than I could chew. But through it all, when there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out. I faced it all and I stood tall; And did it my way. Ive loved, Ive laughed and cried. Ive had my fill; my share of losing. And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing. To think I did all that; And may I say - not in a shy way, No, oh no not me, I did it my way. For what is a woman, what has she got? If not herself, then she has naught. To say the things she truly feels; And not the words of one who kneels. The record shows I took the blows - And did it my way! Well, I think my time here has ended. Maybe MSN Spaces is trying to tell me something. It seems bloggers and people in general cannot post comments on my space. It seems others have had the same problem.
I know I don't have the largest following, but I did have some friends who posted comments from time to time...thank you all.
I am not sure I have the time, energy or imagination to create a new space...time will tell, but I doubt it.
It's been fun, I will continue to read those friends spaces that I frequented. It has been nice getting to know some of you through your Spaces.
Maybe this is a sign...who knows!
Signing off,

Quote Dog Loves Water Slide October 01 Fall...It's finally here!Day 274
Well, the true beginning of fall for me. My favorite time of year...October, November and December. Nothing feels as wonderful as a cool, crisp fall day. As my friend used to say...sweatshirt weather...you have to love it.
It's also the beginning of a lot of birthdays in my family. There are two on 9/28, one on 10/1, 10/2, 10/25, 11/11 (Veteran's Day), 11/20 and then one on 12/15. I'll let you guess which one is mine. Some are in-law birthdays. You have to celebrate those too. :)
The wonderful smell of spicy candles, Halloween and all that that entails. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. The rustling of leaves as you stroll through them. Just watching leaves slowly falling from the trees is a beautiful site (until, of course, I have to rake them all up). I LOVE HALLOWEEN!. I know some people don't particularly like it...my mother-in-law is one of them. It never dampens my spirit though. I am not sure why I like it so much, but it has a special place in my heart, because it always, always makes me happy.
Take a moment this fall to watch the leaves change, feel that wonderful cool breeze take over from the summer heat, and put on those sweatshirts and sweaters with a new sense of well-being. Yippee!!!! |
